Andy Dunbobbin, 49. Married to Louise for 23 year and we have two fantastic children, Jessica and Zack. My family / ancestry has always lived across the breadth of North Wales.
I’ve worked in retail, manufacturing, technology, an outreach worker, and county councillor. I’ve also been a kinship carer.
I am the current Chair of Policing in Wales and PCC lead for several technology initiatives. Initiatives which include National Law Enforcement Data Service (NLEDS); this will be replacing what is commonly known as PNC and the Forensic Collision Investigation Network (FCIN).
I rigorously scrutinise police perform against priorities set in my police and crime plan. Every quarter I hold the Chief Constable to account through my strategic executive board meeting. I believe that this has led to improvements in North Wales Police’s performance. Crime down and performance up.
Policing faces immense scrutiny. However, to serve our communities effectively, building trust and confidence is crucial. Neighbourhood policing is my top priority, focusing on preventing crime.
Personal circumstances led me entering into public life – a vocational calling to serve. To be people’s listening ear, their voice and taking action.
